I obtained my LLB in HKU and joined Clyde & Co in May 2008 as an Associate in the insurance litigation team. I was assigned to work on a wide range of insurance related work, both contentious and non-contentious, for life and non-life insurance.
Anyone who wants to join a truly global law firm with opportunities to interact and work with its international offices should choose Clyde & Co. Clyde & Co is growing constantly in terms of offices, practice and people.

My work includes defending insureds upon insurer's instructions, pursuing recovery claim for insurers, advising on policy terms/ conditions/ agreements etc. I was promoted to Senior Associate in May 2010 and to Counsel in May 2016. Attending the career development centre arranged by the Firm in February 2016 was a fun and unforgettable experience.

Anyone who wants to join a truly global law firm with opportunities to interact and work with its international offices should choose Clyde & Co. The firm is growing constantly in terms of offices, practice and people. You will be working in a dynamic environment. I have worked with our London, Shanghai, Singapore, Cape Town and New York Offices before. I look forward to meeting new people and new opportunities. The Firm has a Global Secondment Programme and I was seconded to the London office. The short but eye-opening experience allowed me to see how Clyde & Co truly is an international law firm. I also heard from our Hong Kong based trainees that they had a fruitful and fun experience having training in the Firm's Dubai, Abu Dhabi and London offices.

I enjoy working with my team very much, as well as having the opportunity to work on the wide variety of work the Firm provides.

I once worked on a defence case involving a passenger lift and the claim exceeded HK$10m. The circumstances of the accident were mysterious.  I had many site visits/ investigation with our experts and Counsel and at the end of the case, I felt like I'd nearly become a lift engineer. It was highly technical but very interesting. I felt like Sherlock Holmes (or at least his assistant) finding all the clues. At the end, we were able to achieve a very favourable settlement for client.

Other than work, I've had a lot of fun taking part in the firm's sponsored fund-raising activities such as the Green Power Hike and the Sedan Chair race, and also the Firm's dragon boat team. There were great to socialize with colleagues from other teams and also with clients. The Hong Kong office also has a pizza/ wine evening every Thursday at the breakout area overlooking the beautiful Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Mountain range.
