I chose Clyde & Co primarily because of the reputation it has among other lawyers and professionals associated with the legal industry. Everyone spoke to me very highly of the firm and had nothing but positive things to say about the quality of the work and the lawyers – both in a professional and a personal capacity. I recently got promoted to Legal Director in May 2018.

After starting my career with a leading European full service firm, I opened the German presence for Clyde & Co with a team of lawyers in September 2016. My goal is to establish Clyde & Co as the premium firm for, in particular, insurance and reinsurance advice in Germany - similar to the firm’s presence in many other jurisdictions. My legal practice focusses on complex claims work including D&O, product liability, M&A, cyber and reinsurance.

Since 2014, I have been running a team on my own and I have relished the challenges and responsibilities that come with that. Recruiting and developing junior lawyers is very rewarding and with the right personnel in place we have been able to grow a profitable practice. It is an experience that few people at my level would have the opportunity to take.

I joined Clyde & Co in 2003. The opportunities, support and training have been excellent and I became a Legal Director in 2009 and a Partner in 2012. Throughout my career I have worked in a wide range of insurance sectors, and have now settled in a specialist sector, dealing with sports insurance, kidnap and ransom and piracy.

I chose Clyde & Co because of the reputation in Manchester as a leading insurance practice. Having worked at a small firm with around 100 members of staff I was keen to see how work would be working for a much larger practice. What I like about Clyde & Co is that despite there being so many employees both in the UK and around the world there is a feeling of a smaller firm within the office and the team I work in.
