I have worked for Clyde and Co as a legal apprentice for four years now, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made.

I am a Level 7 Solicitor Apprentice, based in the Industrial Disease Department in the Manchester Office. I initially applied for universities as I was unaware of the opportunities apprenticeships could provide, it was only until a former apprentice came to my college to give a presentation, then my mind completely changed.

Going down the apprenticeship route instead of University was definitely the best decision I have ever made. It has opened me up to so many opportunities that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise. I get to network with different levels of peers, other solicitors and barrister chambers. I also have the opportunity to run my own files and it’s a bonus that my team is fantastic to work for!

My apprenticeship studies are primarily online, with the odd day going into the campus for a revision day. Clyde and Co allow me one day per week study day, which allows me to focus primarily on that. The work life/study life balance is easy to navigate and the work provided to us in our departments helps me have first-hand experience in the law. So whilst we're studying it, we're practicing it at the same time, which is great!

The apprenticeship is the perfect chance to 'get your foot in the door' and I honestly could not recommend it enough!
