Johannesburg Summer Vacation Scheme - Olwethu's Experience

I'm excited to share my experience participating in Clyde & Co’s 2025 summer vacation programme. It was an incredible opportunity to gain insight into the world of insurance law.

Throughout the week, my fellow vacation students and I engaged in interactive group discussions facilitated by associates, senior associates and legal directors on various topics including: public liability insurance, cyber, corporate and regulation and healthcare to name a few. These sessions were both informative and enjoyable.

In addition to the group discussions, we were paired with buddies who we job-shadowed for the week. This hands-on experience provided invaluable insight into the daily responsibilities of a candidate attorney.

The programme was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish and I'd like to give a huge thank you to the entire Clyde & Co team for creating a supportive environment conducive to learning, networking, and growth.

My fellow vacation students were all wonderful to work with. I wish them continued success in their future legal careers. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the legal profession, and I'm eager to apply the knowledge and skills I've gained to my future career.
