Pro Bono & Social Impact

Saying YES

All our projects fall within three key focus areas chosen by our people. You can explore pro bono and social impact opportunities that mean something to you.

Y: Young Lives

We use our experience and expertise to support and inspire children and young people. Dealing with issues relating to our health, our career, our home or our family can be stressful and destabilising. And by providing pro bono advice we aim to empower young people and their families, so they don’t have to navigate the legal system alone.

E: Equality Before the Law

It is a fundamental principle of our legal system that all people are equally protected by the law without discrimination. Our pro bono practice seeks to uphold this, providing legal assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to access justice.

S: Sustainability and Climate Change

Our pro bono and social impact work complements the firm’s Climate Change Risk Practice. Climate change is a defining issue of our time. It has a catastrophic effect on our environment and, as lawyers, we can help to build a better future, using our legal skills and knowledge to tackle issues. We’re proud of our Climate Change Group, led by trainees, that leads the charge on our climate-related pro bono and social impact projects.

Donating our legal expertise

We’re committed to making sure communities around the world have secure and fair access to legal advice and justice. We’ve developed partnerships with legal clinics and NGO’s (non-governmental organizations), but you’re not limited to those. If you have a cause you believe in, we want to hear about it and find a way to help. By supporting these initiatives, you get to broaden your skills and knowledge in different ways.

Making an impact beyond law

We encourage all our colleagues to take part in our social impact programme which covers a range of non-legal volunteering and fundraising projects. We partner with registered charities, provide support at food banks, help with fundraising and regularly work with our partner schools to help children improve their reading abilities. It’s about using our wide range of skill sets to make a positive difference.
