Sydney Summer Clerkship – Tara Coghlan

Tara Coghlan joined us through our Sydney Summer Clerkship programme (2024). Today, she tells us about her experience.

“The Clerkship was a formative experience that offered invaluable insight into the inner workings of an international corporate firm and significantly enhanced my commercial awareness. Through my rotations, I was exposed to a variety of key industries, deepening my understanding not only through the work I was entrusted with but also through daily interactions with intelligent and diverse professionals. Their perspectives enriched my learning and made the experience all the more rewarding.

One of my greatest takeaways from the Clerkship was the opportunity to experience a variety of legal practice areas. Through structured insight sessions and rotating through two distinct teams, I developed a broader understanding of how different areas of law operate within a commercial context. This exposure not only deepened my legal knowledge but also helped me better understand where my interests lie and how different teams collaborate to deliver client outcomes.
