James Kim

2022/2023 Summer Clerk

“The clerkship program at Clyde & Co was an incredible insight into not only the work that global law firms do but also the way they operate. There’s a real sense of excitement and ambitiousness that runs across the firm’s practice areas and being a clerk means that you’ll be closely mentored by junior and senior lawyers alike and really become a part of the firm’s vision for the future. Clyde & Co’s involvement in complex, high-profile matters also means that you’ll be at the forefront of changes in the law. It was surreal seeing a case run by one of the firm’s teams be cited in one of my textbook readings following the clerkship!”

2022/2023 Summer Clerk

“Coming from the background of never working in a law firm, I personally was apprehensive to how my skillset would apply as a clerk. However, Clyde & Co’s clerkship program was a wonderful introduction into applying my degree in a practical sense. You are thrown into working closely with a team to help in a variety of interesting tasks and matters. This is balanced with social activities such as clerk sport which lets you get to know your cohort better! Clyde and Co’s clerkship program also allows opportunities to network and gain insight into a variety of different areas of law that I otherwise would not have considered interested in the future. ”

2022/2023 Summer Clerk

“Clyde & Co’s clerkship program is a great entry point for anyone looking to pursue a career in corporate law as you are given access to an array of training materials and an extensive support network. I did not feel like I was pushed into the deep end of the pool as both teams I rotated in offered much guidance and mentorship. As a clerk, I was given the opportunity to get meaningfully involved in exciting tasks and receive valuable feedback from industry leading lawyers. Clyde & Co truly offers the best of both worlds – a boutique firm culture along with the resources of a global commercial law firm and opportunities to contribute to high profile matters.”

2022/2023 Summer Clerk

““Clyde & Co’s eight week clerkship program was a fantastic way to begin my career as a commercial lawyer. From day one, I was able to be involved in exciting matters and felt as though I was contributing to real value for the firm. Supported by a team of amazing lawyers, I assisted senior staff in international disputes and advisory work for major clients. Not only did the clerkship expose me to a wide range of legal issues which helped to develop my professional skills, it also provided me with the opportunity to build my professional network. Clyde & Co’s strong company culture is what appealed to me most about the firm, so it was no surprise that all of the clerks were mentored and welcomed by our teams with open arms.””
