Narmin Shahin is a Partner in our Los Angeles office. Today, she is sharing her story.
"My career to become a lawyer began 8,000 miles east in Kuwait City, Kuwait, where I was born. My parents immigrated to the United States in 1993 following Operation Desert Storm. I grew up in the area of Riverside, California, where my mother and my two brothers still live today. My parents championed a career in law and I was the first to graduate from college and graduate school in my family. Despite my parents’ persuasion, I know I chose the best career for myself.
Fast forward to today where my team at Clyde & Co defends private and public entities in a wide variety of cases, including catastrophic injury cases, motor vehicle accident, employment dispute, sex abuse, product liability, and commercial disputes. They also handle class action work.
Though my experience mostly involves labor and employment defense matters, I am attempting to expand that area of practice at the firm. Since I’m located in San Diego, I am expanding the litigation work the firm offers in that region.
I am proud to mentor, lead, and oversee an experienced team of litigators who are predominately women. I am also passionate about helping others succeed, promoting diversity and maintaining a positive working environment. Happiness at work has a profound impact on productivity, creativity, commitment and collegiality.
