Tom Bedford is a partner in our Bristol office, specialising in Professional Indemnity. Today, he is sharing his story.
“I defend other solicitors – either from claims, or SRA investigations and proceedings. Solicitors make great clients and I never take for granted the privilege of being asked to advise them, in what can be tough circumstances.
I’d never have imagined a career in professional indemnity. Growing up, I didn’t know any solicitors and when I started out, I felt intimidated. I’d wanted to become a solicitor having had some experience of divorce as a kid. I wanted to change the system and how it impacts children. Whilst what I do now is different, there are always ‘human’ stories behind my cases. I find reward in doing the best I can for my clients.
I joined Clyde & Co in 2024 because of the firm’s brand and ability to provide me with a platform to grow my practice. It has given me new energy and I’m lucky to work with a group of talented and genuinely nice people.”
