Daniella Sesto joined us through our Summer Associate Program (2024). Today, she tells us about her experience.
What originally drew you to Clyde & Co for your summer experience, and what made you want to return full-time?
I wanted to work for a firm with a global reach because it provides diverse ideas on leadership and solutions to legal challenges. I also wanted to learn about a new area of law, and Clyde & Co fit the description perfectly. I met really great people during the summer, and found that I could see myself fitting into the environment after law school, so I am very excited to return.
How did your relationships with lawyers during summer – mentors, partners, or peer – impact your decision to return?
My relationship with mentors was a major reason for my decision to return. I was so grateful to have genuine guidance from those around me, and hope to continue fostering those relationships when I return in the fall.
What was the most rewarding or unexpected part of your summer experience at Clyde & Co?
The most rewarding and unexpected part of the summer was forming new friendships with the other summer associates.
How did the summer program prepare you for your transition into practice as a first-year associate?
The summer program gave me a very realistic view of the day-to-day life of a lawyer at Clyde, thanks in part to the willingness of all Clyde employees to take the time to explain tasks and include me in client calls and emails.
How has Clyde & Co supported your growth since joining—whether through mentorship, learning opportunities, or career progression?
Clyde has been incredibly generous in their support through my last year of law school and bar prep. I have learned so much about professionalism, insurance and contract disputes, and international law that I have used in both my studies and personal life.
What do you enjoy most about working at Clyde & Co today?
I really enjoy the wide range of topics I am exposed to. Each day is a new topic, which keeps me engaged and excited to learn.
